Winter Warmers

The week between Christmas and New year is always one of my favourites. If we're not in work we can barely remember what day it is. Time seems to stand still yet as we near New Year's Eve the week feels like it definitely went by far too fast. Meeting up with friends and spending time with family is high up on the list of priorities, and with our newly acquired calmer demeanour it's a perfect time to catch up on all the things that make life rich and more fulfilling.

Togetherness...

Pots of tea...

A Kindle story of a French vineyard...

Glasses of wine...

'Comfort' dinners...

Log fires...

Candles everywhere...

Conviviality...

Long walks...

The list is practically endless.

And when we're indoors enjoying the slower pace I can't think of a better way to spend the passing days than with some of these.

Salted Chocolate & Peanut Slab

And not so much a 'warming' recipe as a 'winter' one...

Winter Baileys Shake

I must admit, I'm not looking forward to getting back to the grind next week!

  1. I really love this week too!! Sounds like you're having a lovely break, I dread normality after Christmas too. I'm mustering up the energy to do a Christmas blog post too, it's so long since I've blogged I can barely remember how!!! Hope you have a fab new year!!
