Champion brunch | The IDI Awards

I have to say I fully intended this to be breakfast in bed…

But three tetchy boys early this morning changed my plan of action, and it became a champion brunch instead.

Thankfully a run around the park sorted the boys out. And because it was after 12 by the time we got back, the brunch also included a glass of Champagne… You see, there’s always a plus side to a tantrum!

The Champion in question is my über talented husband David.

On Thursday night we attended the IDI Awards.

This year the prize giving was held in The Marker Hotel on Grand Canal Square.

Where he won two awards for graphic design on the international publication he designed for the luxury wood floor company EBONY AND CO.

We had visited The Marker Hotel before but never at night time, it became a totally different place and even more stunning.

After the award ceremony and some nibbles we made our way back out to the foyer.

Where the celebrations really began.

Over cocktails of course!

The Happy Client

It was an amazing evening starting with wonderful company in Ely Gastro Bar and ending with two awards.

What more could you want…

Apart from the hat trick next year maybe?!

UBER SCRAMBLED EGGS ON TOAST (Serves 2)

6 eggs

¼ cup double cream

1 tbsp butter

Salt and pepper

50g smoked salmon, chopped

Chives to garnish

Whisk your eggs and cream together and season with salt and pepper.

Preheat a large pan over a medium heat. Melt the butter in the pan and add the eggs. Stir constantly towards the end until the eggs are cooked but still have a small amount of liquid left.

Stir in the smoked salmon and garnish with chives.

Serve with toasted multi-seed bread and a glass of Champagne!

And because he loves mince pies..

I bought him some for after!

The mince pies, smoked salmon, and Champagne are making me feel very festive so my next post might just be a Christmasy one!
