Winter Baileys Shake | Weekend Cocktail

After dinner, when everyone wants something sweet and I'm all out of either ideas, ingredients or most likely energy I'll often make an easy ice cream dessert with crushed Oreo cookies. It's so simple that it's not really a recipe more a combination of techniques: scooping, crushing, drizzling. Everyone loves it, even me and I don't have a particularly big sweet tooth. A couple of scoops of good ice cream - preferably cookies and cream but vanilla is good too - some Oreos crushed in the blender and sprinkled on top and a drizzle of caramel (has to be Starbucks - so good!) and that's it. But then, one evening a few weeks ago while I was making our 'go-to' dessert I had a Christmas cocktail brainwave. What if I added the ice cream and caramel to the blender with the Oreos, poured in some milk and Baileys and gave it a delicious name like Winter Baileys Shake? So I did and this is what happened...

Winter Baileys Shake (SERVES 2)

What you'll need:
  • 4 oreos, crushed
  • 4 scoops of cookies & cream ice cream
  • A couple of squirts of caramel sauce (preferably Starbucks)
  • 200 ml milk
  • 4 oz Baileys

How to make it:

Break up the Oreos and pop in a blender. Pulse a couple of times until crushed. Remove a tablespoon to use later as a garnish.

Add the ice cream, caramel sauce and milk and blend for about 30 seconds until the ingredients are combined. Add a generous drop of Baileys and pulse once or twice until mixed through.

Pour into two glasses, garnish with the crushed Oreos, pop in a straw and enjoy one of Christmases great pleasures!

  1. I agree with you on this. Getting less sleep makes you lazy and you can't even focus properly. People should learn from this and clear their minds.
