Weekend Web

'Weekend Web' is a regular Monday update on the blog with links to a variety of things I've come across from the internet that I've found helpful, interesting or that I've just loved! Here's the round up...

Over the last couple of weekends I got lost in these gorgeous design books.

They were given to me to look through by fellow blogger Alice, from Thrifted Treasure. You can read her wonderful blog here. I loved every single one of them. Thank you Alice!

There's something so exciting about this time of year. Even though lots of things are winding down I get an abundance of energy from all the wonderful things that are happening in Autumn. The changing colours - natures way of painting us a vibrant picture to enjoy before the evenings get shorter - cosy fires, harvest time, movie nights, comfy jumpers, kicking leaves, long walks, warming soups, flickering candles... I definitely feel extra creative around this time!

These books couldn't have come at a better time to motivate, inspire and give me great ideas for some home improvements. And now that we're well and truly back into term-time it's a perfect time for me to get some home decor projects underway.

To get started I popped into MRCB Paints & Papers on Cornmarket street, Dublin 8. I've wanted to use Benjamin Moore paints for some time since discovering them on Pinterest, but I wasn't sure if they were stocked in Ireland. Benjamin Moore is an American paint company, their paints have a similar historic colour palette to Farrow & Ball paints, however they have a much larger range of colours. I've been told the paints are a very high quality too. After a quick phone call to MRCB I was told that they are sold here, and they're stocked in their shop.

I came home with a gallon of 'Grége Avenue' paint by Benjamin Moore for the en suite.

And a smaller can of 'Stormy Monday' for the fireplace.

I'll post the pictures from these projects over the coming weeks. In the meantime, here are some links I loved from the weekend!

LOVED FROM THE WEB

Funny

Such a funny advert. I just love Rebel Wilson.

Food

Nom, nom, nom donuts...

A great place to find some mouthwatering food blogs.

This article surprised me, but then the more I thought about it the more I realised that if I was a vegetarian I'd probably be one of the 1-in-3!

Interiors & Design

Some Halloween Pinspiration.

Helpful

Check out these 12 great meditation apps. Our favourite is Headspace.

You might not be thinking about Christmas just yet, but just to help you get organised early this year try this website.

A great app to help you to fall asleep.

And one to find out the best time to wake up..!

I love...

This movie in Autumn.

Oh and this one too!

Parenting

A night light and clock for little ones. Using images of the moon and sun it tells them when it's time to sleep and when it's time to wake up. Let's see if it works for us!

And finally, some ideas to keep the kids occupied this week:

Halloween baking ideas here, here and here.

Mid-term events at Hamleys.

The Story Bus Halloween event.

The Masquerade Mystery at Malahide Castle.

Happy Halloween!

    1. I enjoyed them so much. I haven't had a chance to send them the two doors down yet! I think the bag needs a man to carry.. ;-) I'll ask him nicely tomorrow! Happy Halloween. I hope your boys aren't as crazy as mine this time of year. We've had spiderman and a fireman running around the place for the past week :-)
