Irelandopedia

Like lots of homes in Ireland, we adore books. Ross (9) can't get enough of them, sometimes reading up to 3 books a day, and the little ones (2 & 3) are following his lead.

You can see some of our favourites in 'The Favourite Five' post here.

This year Santa delivered an amazing book that I have to tell you about. It's called Irelandopedia by Fatti & John Burke, if you haven't heard about it (or don't own a copy already!) then let me fill you in.

Fatti (an illustrator) together with her Dad, John (a school teacher) created this unique and beautiful book.

This book was originally for Ross. However, it's so good that everyone who's picked it up has gravitated back to it time and time again - even Gaga borrowed it for a few days!

With captivating illustrations and enlightening facts, you're gently guided around Ireland by Fatti's beautiful images. Discover the tallest peak, the largest lake (Carrauntoohil & Lough Neigh FYI) and wildlife found in the Dublin mountains. We are all learning so much from this book and absolutely love reading it.

Thankfully the thick paper has turned out to be very toddler-proof too!

There is something very special about Irelandopedia. Like I mentioned, Santa delivered our copy, but this beautiful book is available from Eason and - as they say - from all good book shops.

Happy reading!
