Sugru Love | and Giveaway!

About a year ago David came home with a packet of Sugru; a mouldable filler/glue/playdough like substance. He had heard about it on 99U and afterwards picked up a pack in Woodies. He knew it was exactly what he needed to fix a couple of things.

THIS is what I'm talking about...

David doesn't really do lots of fixing around the house but when he does decide to do a bit of DIY it has to be with something really cool that everyone's talking about... Sugru... Perfect!

He wanted to fix our leaky Nespresso machine and a hole in the cutlery basket in the dishwasher.

I think it went something like this!:

"Emm ... I don't think that's going to work." I told him as I watched him roll up small pieces of Sugru and press it onto the plastic basket. I wasn't convinced. Especially because of his lack of experience/interest with things like this, and would it not just disintegrate if it got wet?!

"It will work" he answered. "It works on nearly everything."

I picked up the pack and scrutinised the back, still not so sure.

But, it turned out he was absolutely right. It fixed both and it's amazing! How had I not heard about Sugru? I probably wasn't on the internet enough at the time!

Sugru is a moldable glue made from silicone (basically once dry it turns into rubber that attaches to things). It's waterproof, temperature resistant up to 180°C, dishwasher proof, saltwater proof and it's removable too - just in case! It fixes, bonds, cushions, seals, protects and much more.

No more mopping up water from the kitchen counter every morning after my coffee.

No more fishing out teaspoons from the bottom of the dishwasher or pulling out knives from the hole in the cutlerly basket before pulling out the rack.

Since then I've started using it myself and absolutely love it. It's an absolute cinch to use. Just cut open a pack and remove what you need. Mould onto any area that needs fixing or attaching, let it dry for 24 hours and voila admire your handy work.

It fixed my frayed charger wire...

Now I'll always know at a glance which one is mine!

It gave a better grip to the outdoor tap...

I think it makes it look pretty cool too.

It repaired a broken zip

That will definitely save me some time in the mornings!

Sugru's brilliant, and a little addictive. It felt a little like the time I got my first Dyson and I wanted to vacuum EVERYTHING. I've got lots more things I want to do with it!

And the winner is...
